 Publisher’s Corner

We at White Fields Ezine feel compelled to jump into the fervor about the new movie by Mel Gibson, "The Passion of The Christ."  Although I have not seen the film, I am excited to see it so I will try to do so by Part 3 of this writing. My goal with this series is to give Biblical perspectives of the work, and of the debate going on about it. I hope to explore the mind of Christ, through scripture, and render what may be His views, based on scripture.  I hope it is helpful to you!

(This film tells the story of the last 12 hours in the life of Jesus (Caviezel), on the day of his crucifixion in Jerusalem. This film's script is based upon several sources, including the diaries of St. Anne Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824) as collected in the book, "The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ", "The Mystical City of God" by St. Mary of Agreda, and the New Testament books of John, Luke, Mark and Matthew.)

Everywhere you look right now, you see news and information about Mel Gibson’s movie, The Passion of The Christ.  What a debate this movie has stirred up in America , and around the world. Every Christian who has heard God’s call to spread the gospel should be very excited right now.  I want White Fields Ezine to cover this in depth and I would like to approach this differently.  Let’s try to see Jesus’ point of view.  To see His view, we must look to the Word of God, and try to tap into the mind of Christ.  The apostle Paul said that we have the mind of Christ.

I have not seen the movie. I am writing based on the television news, magazine articles, and newspaper coverage, and having seen on cable, "The Making of The Passion of The Christ." I will see the movie soon, before I finish this series. That way, my readers will see how this whole experience evolves for me.

Mel Gibson – An Unlikely Man of God?

First of all, hasn’t Mel Gibson shocked everyone, especially we believers?  I knew he has been a family man for years, and I knew he was a Catholic.  It also appears he is quite a man of God, in the very scriptural sense of the Word.  We need to thank God for this, because Mel has developed quite a platform with His past movies and releases.  In interviews, Mel is still quite charming, boyish, playful, humorous, and fun, and this is good, for the cause of Christ needs converted men and women who are themselves, holding onto their unique individuality, and personal style, while having their inner man regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believers need to be real people, and to be mentally connected to and in touch with the people we are called to, if we hope to be successful in the call to the gospel.

Andy Rooney of 60 Minutes in a scathing and negative critical review of Mel Gibson and the movie, said that Mel is crazy!  But if we look from a scriptural standpoint and from the view of God’s Kingdom, Mel Gibson seems to be about the sanest man in Hollywood .  Who there stands for conviction, first for their spiritual beliefs, and secondly for their artistic integrity?  The usual game is to produce what Godless society wants, and then also produce what creates the most wealth.  There is no honor in the usual movie industry system.  Mel Gibson dared to go to a realm where no man will go, and then he dared to risk his own money to do it.   I personally feel that Mel deserves to earn 100 times his investment.  I somehow feel that Jesus may feel that way too.  Hear the words of Jesus:

“And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some a hundred fold.”  Mark 4: 8

What Else Might Jesus Say?

Jesus told us in the gospel of John that if you are sent speaking of yourself, then you may not be truly sent of God, for one who comes will not speak of himself, but of the one who sent him.  Look at Jesus' comments:

“If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.”  John 5:31    “I am come in my Father’s name and ye receive me not:  if another come in his own name, him ye will receive.”  John 5:43

Christians are not sent in their own name, but in Jesus’ name.  Jesus told us that as the Father sent Him, so He sends us!  The movie team, headed by Mel Gibson, who produced this movie, is invisible.  They have tried to give us a re-enactment of the last 12 hours of Jesus' life, with all the bitter cruelty inflicted upon Jesus, with the focus on Him, and no other.  Even the title, “The Passion of The Christ” is pointing to a tale of woe and misery, and Jesus’ story is being told almost as in honor to him.  The movie makers are seeking the honor and remembrance of Jesus, The Christ.  Our Lord is getting a Hollywood memorial to Him, done in first rate quality, and with artistic style.  According to Jesus’ own words of John 5, the movie bears witness to Jesus,  and His death, and focuses on it, and according to the scriptural principle,  laid out by Jesus, in John 5, the movie and its makers are sent by God, with a mission to relay a message.  At the very least, they are telling the tale that should be told, about a Supreme God who became a Man, and through His sufferings redeemed a planet full of people.

Jesus, The True Braveheart!

After the movie release of "Braveheart", there was kind of a Wallace-mania that arose based on the true life hero, William Wallace.  People in Scotland and America and others around the world admired Wallace and were inspired by this hero of freedom that Mel Gibson portrayed in the film.  Was Mel in training for a bigger project?  Did Mel's movie making skills get polished for God's purposes?  Mel again played a freedom fighter in "The Patriot", portraying a man who prays, who loves his family, and who sacrifices much for his cause. Mel Gibson keeps playing characters whose personal lives are given for or devoted to freedom.  These freedom fighters were impressive, but any remnant of society at any time in history was and is fighting for Christ's cause, which is the freedom of the whole planet, both spiritually and politically.  In this new movie, Jesus' life is given for mankind's total freedom from sin and death. "Whom the Son sets free is free indeed."  Jesus Christ is the Inventor and Creator of the word and the idea of "freedom."  "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."

Can this movie - "The Passion of The Christ" help people rise to more admiration of and respect for Jesus and His great sacrifice?  Can people be convicted of their sin, through this movie? Can God's will be done with this movie? We are all hoping and praying for the fact that it will be so!

Next time, in Part 2, more from scripture on what Jesus might say about this movie.  Also, in Part 3, what might the Apostle Paul say about this movie?

Jim Caviezel, as Jesus, was 33 years old * as filming began, and has the initials "JC"!  Caviezel is a believer in Christ and was struck by lightning while on the cross, during the shooting, twice, but survived!  More on Caviezel in Part 2!

*(Jesus was 33 years old when crucified)

What Might Jesus Say About The Movie, The Passion of The Christ!  Part 2

copyright 2004, by Greg Nichols

The film has earned $264,000,000 to date.  Much of those funds go right to Mel Gibson, who took a huge risk in investing millions of his own funds, after being rejected by most large movie studios.  The Hollywood community has been set upside down by this turn of events. People are interested and hungry for spiritual things, and truth.  Many go to this movie out of curiosity to see which side of the debate they will camp on.  But once they get there, it is watch out, for it is an experience to encounter, to say the least. The sleeping giant of the Body of Christ has shown up in mass.  When we show up, all eyes must take notice.  No more are we outdated, obsolete and weird. We never were, but many believers have been made to feel that way.  I certainly hope a trend has begun that shows people that to be in God’s Kingdom is where they want to be, and to follow Jesus Christ is the absolute way to go.  Do you suppose Mel Gibson is sorry he took a risk and followed God in this venture?  We all need to learn a lesson of faith here.

I attended the film a few days ago.  What an emotionally stirring, excellently done, artistic, beautiful rendering of the last hours of Jesus.  I recommend this film to anyone except children under 10 or 11.  I use my own son as gauge when I recommend ages, for I took him to it, and he is 12.  He was shocked but also blessed.  I wept many times in the film, and was in awe of the high quality, the amazing reality, the very in depth of scriptural knowledge used, and the deep understanding on the part of the creators of the movie of the truth of those final hours of Jesus’ life. This film preaches, and entertains.  In 2 hours, this film lays out the crux of man’s redemption, and the reason for Jesus’ sufferings, and the significance of Cross of Calvary.   In flashbacks, many truths of Jesus came forth, as He taught, and spoke to His followers.

I believe Jesus would say well done on this film, and no doubt is showing us that by the smashed box office records.  A movie in Hollywood about Jesus is kind of like selling ice boxes at the North Pole.  So if it is a top grosser, then God is endorsing it, wouldn't you think?  Jesus said you would know a man, or a cause, or a work by the fruit it produces.  I heard one reporter call it the results of viral marketing, and a feeding frenzy over the debates and negative press.  But I would like to raise this point:  Anywhere this Man - Jesus, went, while walking on the earth, and doing His ministry, He had those same phenomena going on, viral marketing and negative press.  He had to get away from crowds to take a rest. They swarmed Him.  The Holy Spirit used human nature and Godly spiritual attraction both to promote Jesus.  The Holy Spirit is at it again, and I think "feeding frenzy" fits, but the crowds at the theatres are feeding on The "Bread of Life."

What’s in a Title?

I wonder if most people know that the word “Christ” is not Jesus’ last name, but rather a title.  The word literally means “Anointed One.”  Scripture teaches that there can be only one “Christ.”   Other christs may come, but we are to wait and watch for the second coming of the “One Christ.”  When He came 2000 years ago, to redeem the world, He came as “The Christ.” He is the only “One.”  While we are on the topic of titles, here is an interesting fact.  When the movie was released, the movie producers had a particular intent about the title. The movie title is worth noticing.  They started to release it as “The Passion”.  But that was in conflict with another movie of a different subject, by the same title.  So they added, “of The Christ”.  They released it with the word “The” beginning with a capital letter.  Whenever you see it in print, it usually has the letter T in caps.  I have noticed that a few newspapers and magazines disobey the movie producer’s intentions and use a small “t.”  This is extremely subtle, both on the part of the movie producers, and on the part of the parties not recognizing the capital “T.”  Notice my title above.  It has a large “T.”

Why is this?  In Christian circles, a reference to God is always capitalized.  His, He, Him, They for the Holy Trinity, and this capital T is no different.  Normally, this should be a small “t.”  But if “the Christ” is God, then it should be “The Christ”.   See what I mean?  This is the whole debate of the movie, and the gospel’s account.  Was He the Son of God?  Is He the Son of God today, in this millennium, in 2004, at the release of this movie?  In the movie, Satan asks Jesus, “are you God’s Son?”  Satan also asks, “who are you?”   Satan is still stirring up this question today, in our society.  If Jesus is God’s Son, then all this effort and money spent to produce this movie is a valuable investment.  If Jesus is not God’s Son, then this whole story makes no sense, it is not grounds for a good movie, and it is not worth all the press it got.  But Jesus is God’s Son.  It was His destiny to be crucified.  It is our destiny to find it out and personalize that great point in history to our very core, our hearts and our minds.  It is our destiny to receive the sacrifice of Jesus and understand that He was punished and died in our stead.   Satan hates this fact.  This is why Mel Gibson has been so criticized.  Satan could not stop this movie anymore than he could stop Christ’s death and resurrection.  This is why pure evil has stirred up so many malcontents who despise this movie.

Is the Movie Anti-Semitic or Not?

Didn’t a Jewish crowd shout “crucify Him” in past movies like “The Greatest Story Ever Told?”  How about in “Jesus of Nazareth or in “King of Kings?”  Not one of these movies had this accusation against them.  But this movie surpassed those movies in revealing the true heart of the gospels, and the true passion and suffering of Jesus.  I can see why Satan would hate it.   Are Sunday school rooms all over America anti-Semitic?   The same story is told in those Sunday school rooms.  We won’t gloss over the fact that Jews handed Jesus over to the Romans to be crucified.  It is truth.  We also won’t gloss over the Holocaust in World War 2.  It is also the truth.  Some are saying the Holocaust did not really happen.  It did.  It is also truth.  We honor Jewish people to remember the Holocaust.  We honor Jesus to remember His unjust sufferings, at the hands of the Jews and the Romans. But isn’t it just like men to cast blame for things when Satan should receive the blame?  Mel Gibson reveals in the movie that Satan was there, orchestrating that day in Jerusalem , and using the people like puppets.  That is exactly what Hitler was also.  He was a puppet of Satan.

Was Pilate that Nice?

Another criticism of this movie was that Pilate historically did not want to pacify crowds.  It is said he was a tyrant that slaughtered people.  In this claim, those critics defy scripture which states that Pilate wanted to avoid a crucifixion that day. But this to me sounds like error.  Critics forget that he was also a politician.   They also forget that Jerusalem was his charge, from Rome .  And if Rome was not enough motivation to try to create peace that day, then there was his wife.  She was against the crucifixion, and it was hell to pay in his home if he took part.  Why would the critics who think Pilate was not as nice as scripture revealed him to be overlook this simple common sense? Do not try to tell me that Pilate was a crazed killer that did not fit the gospel account.  First, he was afraid of Caesar, and after that, even worse and more dreadful, he had to face his wife.  Neither Caeser nor his wife would go easy on him if he slaughtered the crowd that day. Common sense and knowledge of human nature ought to tell any critic what went on that day, if they fail to simply believe the gospel.

Jesus Portrayed by a Believer

Unlike past movies about Christ, the actor who portrayed Him is a Christian.  Jim Caviezel, whose initials are J.C., was 33 years old as the project was in the making.  He is now 35.  This to me is no accident. God knows what He is doing.  It is not a major thing, but one of thousands of small signs from God.  Jim was struck by lightning in the making of the film.  According to scripture, Satan often controls lightning.  In the Bible, Job’s  children were killed by lightning.  Satan was at the root of it.   Satan hated a Christian actor portraying Jesus, but God spared Jim Caviezel.   Jim took communion every day on the set to get through the rigors of the shoot.  He was interviewed and I heard him say, “it was an honor to play our Lord.”   This fine actor has made some great films, “The Thin Red Line”, “Frequency”, “The Count of Monte Christo”, and more.  In another interview by Mel Gibson, Mel stated that Jim seemed to always get the scene right, and to always know what to do.  This is no doubt the anointing of God, and the leading of The Holy Spirit.

Jim Caviezel as Jesus, after the scourging, and Jim as Jesus carrying His cross.

Christ Ripped to Shreds

Did this really happen?  I am afraid to say it did.  The Roman scourge had several leather tails that whipped around and each one had sharpened and jagged bones fixed to it.  It was much like a fishhook.  Did you ever get a fishhook caught in your clothes, or your skin?  When they scourged Jesus, they hit Him with these leather tails and these jagged, sharpened bones caught in His skin. Then, the soldiers violently ripped them out.  As soon as a place on His flesh was ripped to shreds, they would start a new place.  Roman tradition was to give 39 of these hits in a scourging.  The Apostle Paul confirms this.  He also received 39 lashes. Add to the scourging the hitting, the pushing, the thorny crown, the spitting, the nails and spear, and much more than we can imagine, and you get an idea of why Jesus was quite mutilated. Mel Gibson and the movie producers showed all this, and it was grotesque.  But they really revealed good research, and study of the actual Roman ways of that day, for many believers like myself have also known this for quite some time, because of various research.  Many seasoned and well-studied believers know that Jesus was ripped to shreds, and made a bloody pulp, until He was not even recognizable.  The prophet Isaiah even eluded to this in Isaiah 53, verses 2-10.  But if you want to know the reason God would stand for this, I can tell you.

The amount of brutality and punishment to this Man’s body would have to be in proportion to the amount of sin in the world, in all generations.  How much would that be?  Can you imagine how much sin all mankind has or has had?  How about you?  How many sins have you done yourself in your whole life?  Don’t answer.  I think you get the point.  Jesus knew how bad it would be and still went forward.  He took all this willingly.  Here is a nice thought.  On Resurrection morning, every last sore and injury was healed, except for the nail scars and the side piercing, to be kept for proof.

He looked as fresh on Resurrection morning, as your inner spirit looks after God forgives you for sin.  Yes, He went through it so you could get healed, inside.  If you have not received Jesus in your heart by now, do so at once.  If you are a believer, then let this movie and the truth of Jesus’ death and suffering improve your inner life even more.  God has given you a great gift, so use it.  God has given you Jesus, so open up to Him.  He will make all things new.

Next time, in Part 3, what might the Apostle Paul say about this movie?

What Might Paul Say About The Movie, The Passion of The Christ!  Part 3

copyright 2004, by Greg Nichols

The movie “The Passion of The Christ” has created the biggest stir (and debate) for Christianity in decades.  If you have not seen it yet, I can think of no better week than this week, the time between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.  I cannot reveal any important parts of the movie in this writing for those who have not seen it, but take my word for it, there are some real creative, meaningful and scriptural sequences in the film.  Only in Hollywood could these sequences have been pulled off, and only with special effects, and movie making wizardry.

Too Gruesome?

I think the average person can handle this movie.  To witness the most self-less and Divine act by a man in all history is worth the gore.  Last year, they released “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”  I didn’t see it.  But crowds flocked to that, and no one protested the gruesome nature of the movie.  Our Lord’s passion was a violent and brutal act, and a black mark of a statement on mankind’s vanity, fear, pride, and rebellion.  But we must remember it, and remember it well.  The Cross of Calvary is a demarcation of time in man’s history, and seeing this movie is an excellent way to remember the body and blood of our Lord Jesus, which we are called to do often, by Jesus Himself.  I am speaking of communion, but this movie can bring the same results as taking communion.  That is because the depth of feeling and emotion and the reality of the blood and body of Jesus in the movie actually stirs us to our own inner workings of our hearts, and the power of Christ’s body and blood to heal our hearts, in an ongoing and perpetual manner.

The Jesus of Nazareth Movie

I recently watched “Jesus of Nazareth”, the earlier movie of Christ, and His life.  I appreciated seeing the rest of the story, as Mel Gibson’s version only touched on the final day in Jesus’ life.   What a cast of stars are in that movie.  Many of them are now dead.  Go get that one and watch it sometime, but try not to compare the movies, as each one fulfills a different purpose.  Visually, The Passion outdoes the earlier movie, but the earlier movie preaches a depth of meaning that is very significant and all encompassing.  I am a Bible teacher, and I love to see the movie dialogues state the deep meanings of God’s short visit to us, in the form of Jesus.  This was done well in both movies.

What Might Paul Say?

The Apostle Paul was a man of great passion for his work, which was the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was also very brilliant, having much education and a great mind.  He was educated far beyond the other earlier apostles, which is no doubt why he wrote most of the New Testament.  I believe Paul would have enjoyed The Passion of The Christ, the movie, and the way it was done.  I believe Paul would approve of the mass media effect that could only be accomplished through Hollywood .  I do not believe the mind-set in Paul and in Mel Gibson were too different.  Mel Gibson said to some Christian leaders, “the making of the movie was being led by the Holy Spirit and I was really just directing traffic”.  I have been involved in that kind of a leadership by God’s Spirit before, and I know what Mel means.  God’s anointing just takes over, and at the end, I feel as if another did the work.

Paul said this following statement in the Bible:

“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto His death;   Philippians 3:10

A great key of Christianity is stated here that most Christians miss, or are ignorant of.  First of all, if you suffer in the theatre at the gore and the bloody mess they make of Jesus, because it is traumatic, I will not have much pity for you.  Jesus had to feel the whip on His back. You and I do not.  God calls us to fellowship in His sufferings, and I will give you my own interpretation of that phrase.  God calls us to suffer righteously, as we live in our body of flesh.  Abstaining from evil is hard, and difficult, and our flesh suffers when we must make it line up with the Word of God.  In that way, obeying God and doing the obedient thing is to fellowship with Jesus’ sufferings.  Next, the world hated Jesus, and they will hate us.  If we are laughed at, or verbally abused, or even beat up or generally disdained, then just know that God has called us to suffer that for His sake, and we are called to not revile our persecutors, just like Jesus.  They persecute, and we love with God’s love.  Paul was scourged by a similar whip that was used on Jesus.

God, through Mel Gibson, has actually given us a way to heed Paul’s admonition above and literally fellowship in some of Jesus’ sufferings, by simply attending a movie. The world will not understand this.  But as believers, we do understand that Calvary was a sacred and holy act of Christ, wrought by God, for the good of the human race.  As for being called to suffer, the world and unbelievers have it backwards.  They just think they are called to feel good. However, as a man reaps, that will he also sow.

An Empty Cross

I want to make a certain point here as I close this third and final installment about the movie.  Jesus did suffer at man’s hands, and the movie is correct in many ways.  But let us not forget that Jesus is no longer suffering, and He is down from the cross, and He is bigger than life right now, as He reaches out to all mankind.  The cross is empty, and it remains an amazing Christian symbol.

An Empty Tomb

Three days later, the ground no doubt shook, the light of Heaven focused on that broken body in the tomb, and the greatest man who ever lived, who is also God, came alive to the world, in the most miraculous of happenings.  The old blood soaked cross was no doubt disposed of, and rotted away.  The tomb of Jesus was simply a short stay for the Son of God, as was His cross.

Do not freeze Jesus up on that cross in your mind. Yes, remember it, meditate it often, and never forget that our sins caused it.  However, let Jesus progress to His next level in your thinking.  What is that next level?  It is a Divine truth.  Here is that truth.  He ascended into Heaven after 40 days.  He rejoined His Father at His right hand.  He was given rule over 3 worlds, Heaven, Earth and Hell.  Release Jesus in your thinking, also from the tomb, where we must all go, and where mankind is destined to be.  But release Him in your minds, for He is in Heaven, and He abides in another place also.

Empty Hearts

The Father and Jesus had this great vision, which was the reason for the Passion of The Christ, the real act, not just a movie.  They wanted to fill men and women’s empty hearts, and abide there forever.  They wanted to fill your heart.  Man’s sinful nature is like the cross of Christ, and His empty heart is really like the tomb of Christ, a very dead thing.  But if we let Jesus come off the cross, and out of the tomb, and into our hearts, then we do honor unto God, and His plan for us.  We honor Christ and His sufferings, by acting on His plan, and receiving the benefits of the great sacrifice.  You and I are really called to the Righteousness of God as a free gift because of Christ’s cross.  But to know Jesus, now, as He is now, we need to look at John’s Revelation.

“And I turned to see the voice that spake with me, and being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; and in the midst of the candlesticks, one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and gird about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and His hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were as a flame of fire; and His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and His voice as the sound of many waters".    Revelations 1: 12-15  (King James Version)

This is the current state of Jesus as seen through a man’s eyes and recorded in scriptures.  I am sure that the glory of God was so full upon Jesus that the sheer brilliance of His majesty brought about this very strange description.  But this is description of the God of the whole universe.  You bet He might be a little different than the man they pushed around and brutalized and tortured.  He has changed in appearance, somewhat.  He is Omnipotent, He is totally available to us, and to you, and He is a majestic and forceful and mighty King!  But He loves you and I!

Easter or Resurrection Sunday is about upon us.  What a time to know Him more!  Don’t you agree?

If You Have Never Received Christ!

There is a time for everything under the sun, and now may be your time to receive Jesus. God gave Him to you and I as a gift, and if you never do receive Him, you will miss out on the greatest offer and deal humanity has ever received. This is no accident here that you have read this ezine. This was a Divine appointment for your Divine destiny. God set this up and has led you to this point, so go ahead and seal the plan of God, for you, that is, and receive His Son, Jesus.  You must be born again to see the Kingdom of God.  (John 3:3)

Maybe you have only been away from God, but knew Him at an earlier time.  God says, "Come back child" and has arms extended open for you.  Get right in your life with God today!  You owe it to yourself.

Pray this:      (Simply repeat this prayer aloud now:)

Lord, I am a sinner, and I need you.  Jesus, I receive you now.  You are God, and I recognize your death and resurrection.  Come into my heart, save me, and give me eternal life.  Forgive me of sin, and wash me clean of all unrighteousness. I am now your child, and I thank you for saving me. Thank you Lord.       In Jesus Name, Amen.

If you said that prayer from your heart, you are now saved and a child of God. The possibilities are endless here for your new life, but best of all, Heaven is settled for you!!

Watch for the next issue of White Fields Ezine, we are going to take this to new levels!  You will get this same chance to say this prayer if you did not this time, in every issue.

A Ground Rule  (Statement of Unity)

White Fields Ministries is a sound Bible based organization, and I, Greg Nichols, am the Director.  I am also the owner of The MFN Group and MFN Publishing, which has a collection of published works that are a little more secular, but full of redeeming value. I am ordained with the International Gospel Assemblies out of Missouri.  It is a missionary and ministerial organization founded in 1962.  My wife Debbie is a graduate of Trinity Bible College in Northern California, and that is an Assemblies of God College.  I have had no bible college, but I do feel God has placed a gift of teaching and preaching upon my life, and on my wife also. The ground rule is that you and I may not always agree on doctrines, but I believe God would have us rise above doctrines in the spirit of His love, and unite to accomplish his purposes.  That is how strong I feel about this project for online people. The cyber mission field here is huge, possibly the largest in the world, and the fastest growing.  The ground rule is that if you disagree with something, I will welcome you to email me and state your opinion. I will probably respond. But let’s decide to think about this next fact in advance.  We will not agree on everything, but we do agree that Jesus is to be the center of our focus, the Word of God is absolute, and the gospel to lost souls is the priority.
